A tough little bruiser

LRD is an amazing little MG Midget. Representing the pinnacle of MG Midget modification LRD features an Omex 2.0 litre Zetec engine pushing out up to 210bhp at the flywheel.

The engine is mated to a custom build type-9 gearbox and output is via a plate style LSD combined with a Frontline built rear axle.

A tidy installation

Much of the fabrication and installation was planned and executed by Jonathon Heap at JLH Motorsport in Napton. Jonathon has been responsible for the specification of the engine package and the very tidy installation work.

Since owning LRD, I have continued to improve it, with a rebuilt dash, new windscreen, revised radiator, rebuilt wheels, new hood, an Ashley GT Fastback hard-top and more.

This little rocket is a joy to own and drive. It is so unassuming yet gives any modern car a run for its money.

Track day fun

The Zetec engine from Omex delivers over 200bhp, and combined with Frontline suspension and brakes the package is perfect for track-day fun. The car delivers predictable handling with fantastic performance.
“Every time I get in the Zetec Midget it surprises and delights me.” David Jerram
